Customers are increasingly demanding safer, less toxic, and more sustainable products. In response to this, a radical shift is happening in the marketplace towards increased product transparency. The Materials and Resources credits in LEED v4.1 emphasize transparency and optimization, and provide incentives for project teams to specify products with transparency documentation of material ingredients and life cycle impacts. Several top design firms in the U.S. have issued statements to manufacturers that they will no longer even consider specifying products without qualifying transparency documentation, namely Health Product Declarations (HPD).Elixir Environmental works exclusively with building product manufacturers to produce high quality material ingredient reporting, such as HPDs and Declare. We also develop LEED Product Documentation, which provides LEED v4 and v4.1 for BD+C related product language, suitable for use in company literature, and by LEED project teams.
