ABOUT TAPAN SAHU

I am presently working with Fluor Corporation, Gurugram as Head of Logistics Competence Center, India I was earlier with Larsen & Toubro Power as Head of Logistics & Services Procurement involving Logistics Management, EXIM, IT procurement, Contracting of third party Inspection agencies, process developments I was earlier heading the Logistics for the Joint Venture Alstom Bharat Forge Power Ltd (JV between Alstom Power of France and Bharat Forge of India) and totally responsible for setting up the processes and systems for catering to the Logistic requirement of the Power Projects.I am part of the Team involved in Knowledge Transfer Project for integrating Alstom Global Supply chain processes and knowledge sharing into the Joint Venture Set up. I have a diversified experience of more than 22 years Post - MBA ranging from Global Freight Management, Breakbulk & Bulk shipping, container operations, Port Operations, Domestic Transportation & Planning (Both heavy machinery to general cargo), Transportation Engg, Rail operations, Route Feasibility Studies for Heavy Lift Packages, risk management, contracting, 3PL management,Customs & Trade Policies, Project Insurances to Trade Finance FOREX Management, IT procurement as also Services procurement I am a Mechanical Engineer from National Institute of Technology, Surat (1993 Batch) with MBA in Finance (95-97 Batch) from Mumbai. I have also been regularly writing aritcles in EXIM India and also participated as speaker in the Global Logistic conferences.
