With over 16 years of experience in data engineering and analytics, I am passionate about delivering data-driven solutions that optimize business performance, customer outcomes, and risk management. As a data engineer at Westpac, I design and implement robust data platforms that enable seamless access, integration, and reporting of data across multiple sources and systems. I also collaborate with diverse stakeholders to understand their needs, define requirements, and plan work initiatives.In my current role, I have spearheaded several projects that enhanced the security, scalability, and efficiency of the data platform. For example, I enabled single sign on, pager duty, and privileged access for the platform, as well as formalized processes for managing change, release, and incidents. I also ensured appropriate controls are in place to meet Sox/audit requirements, and engaged with vendors and business stakeholders for effective planning and transparency. Additionally, I leveraged my skills in SAS, Hadoop, Hive, and Pig to perform exploratory data analysis, develop self-service reports and dashboards, and provide insights for decision making.
