As an R&D Manager at BD, I led the development of a new molecular point-of-care (POC) platform using a novel isothermal amplification technology, APA (archaeal polymerase amplification), for the rapid detection of infectious diseases. With over 25 years of experience in the field of molecular and immuno-diagnostics, I have a strong background in assay optimization and development, product sustainability, cross-functional teams, and customer-facing studies.I am passionate about advancing the field of molecular and immuno-diagnostics and improving global health outcomes. I hold a PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology, as well as a certification in Point-of-Care Specialist from AACC (ADLM). I have also contributed to the development of sample prep devices and instrumentation suitable for downstream applications, and nucleic acid lateral flow test strips for the detection of infectious diseases.
