ABOUT TANYA M.
Tanya is a Transport Planner and Logistics Professional with over 8 years of experience in sustainable mobility, specializing in both passenger and freight transport across India. she has collaborated extensively with central, state, and city governments on diverse transport initiatives.For several years, she supported project implementation at GIZ, the technical agency of the Indo-German development cooperation. Currently, she is engaged in a sustainable urban mobility project jointly led by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Previously, she contributed to an electric mobility initiative with the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI).During her tenure at GIZ, she played a key technical and managerial role in the Indo-German ‘Green Freight’ project, funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and jointly implemented by the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV) and the Logistics Division of DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI). Her work closely supported the National Logistics Policy and PM GatiShakti Master Plan through policy formulation, city logistics planning, warehousing strategies, workforce empowerment with a gender focus, and modal shift strategies towards rail and waterways.Prior to GIZ, she worked on core urban mobility projects including traffic management and junction design (Crosswalk Lab), public bicycle sharing systems, non-motorized transport, ‘Raahgiri’ streets for people initiatives, Complete Streets design, and Smart City transport planning.Committed to continuous learning and collaboration, she is passionate about applying inclusive, multi-stakeholder approaches to develop efficient, people-centric transport systems.
