ABOUT TANYA AVERILL
I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in science. There, I studied Human Development and Family Services and immediately found a job aligning with my studies upon graduating. I have worked with Northwestern Counseling & Support Services, a private, non-profit human services agency, for 5+ years and have learned so much through my experience working with adults and children. I am a proactive professional who has been consistently praised as hard-working by my co-workers and supervisors. Over the course of my 5+year career, I\'ve developed a skill set directly relevant to many roles and/or positions that includes but not limited to, behavior management, behavior modification and crisis intervention. Overall, I have consistently demonstrated communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities in every aspect through my work. I choose every day to make a difference in people’s lives while working in a field with a growing number of opportunities. My goal is to achieve positive outcomes in the lives of others as I believe all it takes is for one person to believe in someone’s journey of healing and support them, no questions asked. I’ve received loads of trainings and have certifications in CPR, Handle with Care, and lastly, as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT). I also have experience using Applied Behavior Analysis therapy (ABA) with children who have autism and other developmental disabilities and understand how behavior works in real situations that can be harmful or affect a child’s learning or social development.
