About Tanvi Lonkar

I\'m a sustainable designer, environmental consultant, and green city planner who dreams of a renewable world and the 15 minutes city concept where we all inclusively thrive as community members. My name is Tanvi Lonkar and this is what I think of 24/7 (for the most part!)WHAT I DOI did my Master’s at The University of Florida in Architectural Studies in Sustainable Design (GPA 4.0). I yearn to provide consultation on energy consumption, water preservation, and sustainable buildings materials as well as design green roofs to overall reduce the urban heat island effect. I work at GAIA as a Sustainability Project Manager. When I am not dreaming of a sustainable future, I paint. My art has been recognized by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Washington University (St. Louis), Rutgers University (NJ), which has led to interviews, social platform, conducting workshops, and speaking at panels.WHY MY WORK MATTERSThe building and construction industry contributes to 40% of global carbon emission (EPA). Most large metropolitan cities focus on driving, and are not well connected through public transportation. Water shortage is a global issue. My work matters because through designing and guiding companies to make the right environmental choices, it can help reverse the climate catastrophe. Nice to meet you!
