As a Communications Intern at Slam Out Loud, I contribute to visual and digital storytelling that supports the organization’s mission to build creative confidence in children from underserved communities through the arts. My work spans content strategy, visual design, and platform engagement across multilingual and multimedia formats.Key responsibilities- Design social media graphics, infographics, and visual assets for campaigns- Edit and conceptualize short-form video content (e.g, Instagram Reels) to showcase impact stories- Support content planning and distribution aligned with SOL’s brand voice and advocacy goals- Collaborate with program and communications teams to translate complex work into accessible visual narratives- Assist in documenting SOL’s arts-based SEL (Social Emotional Learning) programs for diverse audiences

ABOUT TANVI SHUKLA
I got in trouble for talking too much as a kid, but what they didn’t see was a girl discovering the power of language. I was drawn to the rhythm of words, the weight they carry, and the stories they could hold. That spark grew into a deep passion for storytelling, one that now fuels my work as a rising journalist and Davis Scholar at Lewis & Clark College, where I’m double majoring in Rhetoric & Media Studies and International Affairs. Throughout my journey, I’ve edited 200+ articles across the Arts, Opinions, and Sports sections of The Mossy Log, led campus-wide campaigns for social justice, and built student-led programs tackling housing insecurity and gender-based violence. I’ve crafted everything from print layouts to protest chants, social media reels to campus newsletters, always aiming to make stories not just heard, but felt.Journalism, to me, is about more than reporting; it’s about listening with intent, asking the right questions, and telling the stories that others overlook.
