About Tanvi Arey

I am currently a CSE Modeling Senior Engineer at Cummins Inc, where I focus on developing and validating subsystem-level models for advanced powertrain technologies. My work centers on model-based systems engineering (MBSE), leveraging MATLAB/Simulink, MIL/SIL testing, and control system integration to ensure robust and efficient product performance.Previously, as a Graduate Research Assistant at Purdue University and a Cummins Fellow, I specialized in In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM). My research explored the design of bio-inspired multifunctional robotic end-effectors and the development of digital twins for space robotics to enable versatile and sustainable operations in orbit. This work was presented at the ASCEND Conference 2023, highlighting new approaches to robotic adaptability and space sustainability.With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cummins College of Engineering for Women, along with certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Self-Driving Cars, and Learning How to Learn, I bring a strong technical foundation across mechanical design, modeling, and controls engineering. My career is driven by a passion for creating innovative and sustainable solutions, whether for terrestrial mobility systems or the future of space exploration.
