ABOUT TANU S.

As a data scientist at the Governor\'s Office of Planning and Research (OPR), I apply my MPH in epidemiology and my expertise in business intelligence (BI) and R programming to support data-driven decision making and policy development for various public health initiatives. I work with cross-functional teams of researchers, analysts, and stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate data collection, analysis, and visualization methods and tools that inform and improve health outcomes and equity across the state.My passion for advancing health equity stems from my previous experience as an epidemiologist at Heluna Health, where I conducted epidemiological studies and surveillance activities on infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and health disparities among diverse and underserved populations. I also leveraged my skills in BI and R to create and disseminate reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicated complex data and findings to various audiences, including public health officials, community partners, and media outlets. Additionally, I am a program director at Nava Dance Theatre, a nonprofit organization that promotes social justice and cultural awareness through dance and education. I oversee the planning, coordination, and evaluation of various programs and projects that engage and empower communities through artistic expression and advocacy.
