About Tanner Swanson
Tanner Swanson is currently the Major League Quality Control Coach & Director of Catching for the New York Yankees. Tanner spent the 20••••19 seasons as the Catching Coordinator for the Minnesota Twins. Prior to joining the Twins, Tanner spent 5 seasons as an Assistant Baseball at the University of Washington. The UW is located in Seattle, WA and a member of the PAC 12 Conference. Swanson has gained a reputation as a respected clinician within in the baseball coaching community. He has been a featured speaker at the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) National Convention and has appeared on many podcasts dedicated to baseball player development. Prior to joining UW in 2011, Tanner was the Head Baseball Coach at Green River Community College for one season. Tanner also has experience as an assistant coach at Central Washington University and Everett Community College. At CWU, in addition to his coaching responsibilities, Tanner also worked as a full time Lecturer of Physical Education & School Health. Tanner also spent two years as a Health Education teacher at Sultan High School before resigning to pursue a Masters Degree and Collegiate Coaching full time. Swanson has strong aspirations to be a head coach at the Division I level and is looking to extend his professional network within the athletic and coaching fields. He is in the process of completing his Masters degree in Sports Administration and Leadership (MSAL) from Seattle University.
