As a Data Engineer in the Index Data team at BlackRock, I focus on building scalable, automated data solutions that power index creation, analytics, and reporting. My work bridges the gap between complex Index data and the systems that make it accessible, reliable, and actionable for downstream consumers.I’ve been deeply involved in modernizing legacy ETL pipelines—transforming scripts written in Perl, Python, and SQL into streamlined workflows using Apache Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake. From ingesting data from sources like Amazon S3 to building reusable, scalable Python frameworks, my goal is to improve efficiency, reduce manual overhead, and ensure high data accuracy across the board.One of my key contributions has been in the Fanout system—converting it into a modular Python-based framework. This redesign significantly reduced manual intervention, improved data accuracy, and enhanced operational efficiency in distributing market-sensitive data across teams.
