Led a 9-month interdisciplinary engineering initiative with Johns Hopkins Hospital to develop a clinically validated external pacemaker simulator that addresses the lack of realistic training tools for ICU and CVPCU nurses.• Oversaw a team of software, biomedical, electrical, and chemical engineers through full-cycle design, from user research to testing and deployment.• Developed a handheld hardware pacemaker device that replicates over 90% of real-world external pacemaker functionality, featuring physical dials, buttons, lock/reset controls, and multi-mode pacing (VVI, DOO, AAI).• Built a full-stack React-based training platform with real-time ECG visualization, interactive pacing scenarios, quizzes, and competency tracking.• Enabled instant feedback by integrating WebSocket communication between hardware controls and the ECG training interface.• Partnered with CVPCU nurses and clinical staff to define training needs, validate system usability, and align scenarios with real ICU/CCU workflows.• Designed intuitive UI/UX and modular pacing behaviors to ensure realism, ease-of-use, and clinical fidelity in high-stress training environments.
