Durant Performance Coatings is a 3rd Generation, 70+ year family-owned and operated business based in New England. To keep pace with the changing economy, in 2015 the company pivoted from a manufacture of paint to a manufacturer of sealants and composite putty. I’m excited to take on it’s next evolution as we strive to facilitate the sound manufacturing of the newest technological advances. Modern design has become more sophisticated, and now incorporates non-metal materials that can’t be screwed or welded into place. The need for different types of composite putties and adhesives that require specialized formulations for specific uses will grow. One-Size-Fits-All is not going to get the job done. DUR-O-BOND®, our proprietary putty/adhesive, comes in many formulations and can also be customized for specific requirements. Waterproof, fire retardant, non-corrosive, stiff or pourable, our putties are American-made and cost effective. While the global adhesive brands are a major supplier, if you’re a small to mid-size company, we’ll give you the superior customized customer support that your account will NEVER get from the biggest players in the industry. While heavily used in marine manufacturing and repair, DUR-O-BOND can also be used in the automotive and wind turbine industry, as well as other heavy machinery that needs to be aero-dynamic, waterproof, and made of lightweight materials like fiberglass. We are constantly on the lookout for new uses and happy to work with companies in the development of their products that need strong adhesives to find the best formulation for your need. You drive a car? Then you probably make use our signature product every day without even knowing it! Think of Durant every time you pull up to a traffic light or a parking gate. Our STAT-A-FLEX® electrical wire sealant is a critical component to underground triggering systems. STAT-A-FLEX is used by municipalities to manage traffic lights, by commercial developers for parking garages and lots to manage access, and even residential developers to manage exit from gated communities. As the new CEO of Durant, I’m looking forward to meeting and working with many new people in our industry as we transition the company from the 2nd Generation to the 3rd Generation.
