Appointed by Congresswoman Kathy Castor (Fl-14) to served as a Caseworker for Immigration and Consular Affairs. Engage extensive network of government and agency contacts to facilitate inquiries, rectify social justice violations, and solve thousands of cases per year with federal agencies including the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Manage programs to address constituents cases. Employ investigation, intervention, arbitration and facilitation to arrive at timely solutions. Co-manage college interns each semester. Train them in emotional intelligence to properly serve visitors/callers with a variety of issues, phone etiquette, and managing situations with constituents in different stages of crisis. Leverage first-to-know status to organize a vast library of public resources and disseminate information and ensure public access to community programs and solutions. Coordinate consular affairs of Cuban-related academic, scientific, and cultural events.
