About Tandy Trower

Having spent the last 30 years in the PC industry, I have managed the startup of a wide variety of new software and hardware products and technologies. I thrive on the challenges involved in new businesses, from defining products to assembling and managing the teams needed to implement those products. But I also enjoy being hands-on in whatever needs to get done. After 28 years at Microsoft, I resigned to focus on the development products and solutions for what will be one of the greatest and most important challenges we face, an increasing population of people who face challenges due to the effects of aging, disability, and chronic disease. In addition, longevity is also increasing. Our senior population in the U.S. alone is growing to unprecedented 20%, and will be even higher in other parts of the world. This will more than double the number of individuals needing assistance with daily living activities, at a time care costs are increasing and the supply of human resources to support them will be unable to keep up. Digital technologies provide the potential to bridge that gap and within this ecosystem personal robots companions can address assist and augment physical, cognitive, and social function, enabling individuals to better manage their wellness and quality of life and empowering them to continue to be active contributors in the lives of their families and communities.Specialties: startup management, design and development of software and hardware product and services, personal robotics
