ABOUT TANAY DAVE

I am a new graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) with a strong and growing interest in Capital Markets, Credit Analysis, and Risk Management. I am particularly drawn to roles that sit at the intersection of financial analysis, market research, and decision-making under uncertainty.Previously, I interned as a Junior Analyst at Shaughnessy Group, where I supported the M&A origination process through data analysis, market research, business development initiatives, and client-meetings work. During this experience, I contributed to identifying potential acquisition targets, preparing research materials, and assisting in early-stage findings discussions, gaining firsthand exposure to the front end of the M&A lifecycle. This role strengthened my analytical thinking, attention to detail, and commercial awareness, while also developing essential professional skills such as time management, prioritization, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines. I also sharpened my communication and collaboration skills through team-based tasks and client meetings. In addition, I bring nearly two years of experience as an Equity Research Analyst with the Ted Rogers Investment Council, where I worked on stock pitch presentations across Industrials, Natural Resources, and TMT. I conducted in-depth research on companies such as Ryder System, Cameco, and Intapp, focusing on industry analysis, company fundamentals, and competitive positioning. My responsibilities included building investment theses, performing comparable company analysis (relative valuation), and assisting in discounted cash flow (DCF) modelling. This experience refined my ability to evaluate investments using both qualitative insights and quantitative analysis, while developing a disciplined, research-driven approach to financial decision-making.Across these roles, I have gained hands-on experience using tools such as Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and I am comfortable synthesizing complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.I am eager to leverage my foundation in capital markets, credit, and risk, along with my analytical and transferable skills, to contribute meaningfully to entry-level or early-career opportunities in related fields. I am highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
