   As a CFO, I sustained financial operations amidst a pandemic by rebuilding the finance team, including hiring the assistant controller, controller, and budget managers. I also took over and completed the implementation of key finance software. Furthermore, I revamped an over decade-old accounting policy and co-developed a five-year capital operating budget. Currently, I am working in collaboration with the program heads, director of HR, CEO, and director of facilities to facilitate organization-wide strategic planning. My key achievement here involved improving grant management. To this end, I initiated fiscal budgeting that improved spend planning for the program heads, leading to improving grant spending by 43% within the first half of the fiscal year. Moreover, I established a seamless billing process to track fiscal govt, NY State, and city grants by creating Excel-based schedules for each of the 72 grants. Additionally, I streamline finance and accounting functions. For example, I led the switch to a more competent national auditing firm after gaining the board approval. As a result, we reduced the audit findings against industry standards from 34 to 7. I also created Excel templates for data backup to streamline auditing for external auditors. Furthermore, I consolidated systems, outsourced billing, and eliminated underutilized software across 32 locations, subsequently hundreds of thousands a year in operational costs.
