ABOUT TAMI ROTHERY
A dynamic and always-seeking-to-learn individual, Tami has a wide-ranging set of skills and experience, which she primarily applies to her passions: protecting the environment, and helping others to achieve their goals. Her current role as Senior Community Energy Manager with the Community Energy Association allows her to do both on a daily basis, as she assists clients in meeting their climate action objectives. After returning to Canada from a 2-year around-the-world honeymoon, Tami decided to transition from her hometown of Calgary to Penticton, where she took on the exciting and challenging role as the inaugural Sustainability / Alternative Energy Coordinator for the District of Summerland. Through this role, Ms. Rothery was successful in applying for over $7M in grant funding to support the planning and implementation of emissions reduction and energy savings projects for the community, including solar and battery storage projects, EV charging stations, heat pumps, LED street lighting, and more. Ms. Rothery\'s previous professional positions also include acting as the Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator at Trace Associates Inc.(Trace). She supported the President in the management, development, and maintenance of all corporate social responsibility and environmental management system matters for Trace. Ms. Rothery also led Trace’s Waste & Recycling consulting services, working with clients to reduce their waste-to-landfill and find economic efficiencies in their waste and recycling programs. Ms. Rothery’s other past experience includes working as a Recycling Ambassador; chairing the Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial Committee of the Recycling Council of Alberta; and acting as the School Coordinator for a participatory environmental education program at six Calgary area schools. She has participated in and led environmental and waste reduction initiatives in private, public, and not-for-profit settings. Ms. Rothery also has extensive experience in training staff and volunteers, public speaking, report preparation, and data management.
