As UniHome\'s first People hire, I am responsible for the creation and implementation of People and HR strategy, organisational design, employee engagement, talent attraction, employee development, EVP, brand awareness, compensation reviews working with the local community - FE and HE to create awareness of UniHomes as we are proud to be Sheffield born and bread and seeking top local talent to join our forward thinking team. Ensuring I support our people, stay compliant and provide the best support, guidance, and professional & personal development for all.When I first started, there were c50 staff, a year on, the team doubled,three years on, its tripled. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders was crucial to restructure every department to allow career progression and improve resource. I introduced consistent performance management processes and regular feedback surveys to allow and ensure employee satisfaction and development met the needs of our team as well as driving the business forward. Engaging staff in wellbeing activities and events throughout the year, building out training plans for CPD. Worked with the Board on our mission, vision and values to create our EVP so we can be an employer of choice in the local community and regularly review salary and benefits. In November 2023, through the continuous feedback channels and implementing initiatives matching business and employee needs, we were officially certified a Great Place to Work with 82% of our staff voting us as such. Increasing to 86% the following year.The People agenda continuously evolves as we grow bringing exciting and challenging times ahead as we continue to build and thrive.
