About Tamara McDonald M.
Tamara is a coach, educator, and activist. She has spent over a decade fighting to ensure underrepresented individuals have access to safety net employment in California. She served as the chief of administration for the California Labor Commissioner\'s Office before joining the nonprofit sector. As an educator, Tamara has continued her work in the classroom as an adjunct professor, and on the court as a youth basketball program director and coach in the Los Angeles area. Tamara has been involved with intercollegiate athletics for over 16 years, as a division I and II assistant coach, and 5 years as a community college head coach. During this time, Tamara has developed significant relationship throughout west coast with athletic directors and coaches at every level. Tamara specializes in networking with coaches of colors and other marginalized communities. She makes it her mission to ensure POC have ample opportunities to seek high level leadership positions within athletics.Prior to Tamara’s time as a Division I assistant coach, she served as the Chief of Administration for the California Labor Commissioner. She developed a reputations for developing leaders throughout state government. She successfully created innovative processes to improve and streamline government processes. Drawing for her coaching background, along with the corporate and public sector recruiting experience. Tamara is uniquely qualified to serve collegiate coaches and administrators in athletics.Tamara is committed nurturing and mentoring People of Color to ensure fairness and equity in college sports.
