About Tamara Lange

As an experienced neutral, I’m known for my facility in high-stakes and high-conflict disputes, for my ability to get to the heart of the matter, and for my optimism, creativity, and tenacity. I’ve served as a mediator or evaluator in hundreds of cases in federal and state courts, focusing on employment, healthcare, intellectual property, civil rights, constitutional law, and complex commercial disputes. I’ve also mediated in other highly-specialized areas of practice, including product liability, maritime, franchise, insurance, environmental, and Native American law. I’m delighted to offer my services as a neutral at JAMS. I started out as a commercial, IP, insurance coverage, and entertainment lawyer at Heller Ehrman in San Francisco and at Caldwell Leslie Newcombe & Pettit in Los Angeles and then worked as a senior constitutional and civil rights lawyer for the ACLU and the National Center for Youth Law. I was the founding Lead Deputy for Santa Clara County Counsel’s Social Justice & Impact Litigation Section, served on the Litigation Overview Committee for the California State Association of Counties, and received the Dwight Herr Perpetual Award for Outstanding Appellate Practice from the California County Counsels\' Association. As a solo practitioner, I worked on complex commercial, employment, and healthcare cases.I worked part-time while attending Berkeley Law, graduated Order of the Coif (top ten percent of the class), and later clerked for Judge R. Paez in the Central District of California and for Judge W. Fletcher on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
