About Talya Soytas
I graduated from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Program in Environment and Economics. In my undergraduate studies, I analyzed environmental factors and how they intersect with reported climate worry in communities and worked on various projects regarding sustainable urban planning policies and technologies.Now as a second-year Urban Planning student at GSAPP, I am concentrating on the Built Environment alongside Climate Planning. My research interests are mainly around climate resiliency and justice, through the lens of nature-based solutions for cityscapes. My experience in project management, community organizing, research, and marketing has honed essential skills in communication, conflict resolution, leadership, and technical proficiency. With all I bring to the table, I am dedicated to work towards more equaitable, greener cities in the wake of the climate crisis.
