ABOUT MATY T.

I am a power systems engineer and Manager in Deloitte’s Public Sector Energy & Climate practice, where I lead multi-country energy access, climate finance, and electrification initiatives across Francophone Africa. My work focuses on helping governments, utilities, and development partners design data-driven renewable energy programmes, structure climate-aligned financing solutions, and mainstream gender and social inclusion across the full project cycle.I bring a unique combination of engineering depth (power systems, renewable technologies) and strategic advisory experience working with Ministries, regulators, DFIs and donors (World Bank, MCC, EU, GIZ, My recent work spans rural electrification planning, Article 6 piloting, utility technical assistance, carbon finance, capacity building, and the design of gender-inclusive approaches for electrification programs in underserved regions.As Chair of the FeME Independent Advisory Board at the University of Edinburgh, I contribute to global conversations on inclusive engineering and innovation. I am passionate about ensuring Africa’s energy transitions are technically robust, financially viable, and socially inclusive.Two times Mastercard Foundation Scholar with an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems (University of Edinburgh) and a BSc in Electrical Engineering (Arizona State University). Fluent in English, French, Wolof, with working Spanish.
