About Talia Fields

Hello! My name is Talia Fields, and while I’m originally from Clarksville, Maryland, I’ve found my second home at Elon University in North Carolina, where I am a third-year Presidential Scholar studying Strategic Communications and Media Analytics. My versatility, leadership skills, and analytical mindset shape my approach to communications and strategy, which I’ve developed through numerous experiences. Currently, I am the Assistant Agency Director at Live Oak Communications, Elon’s student-run agency, and I’ve recently completed a Corporate Communications internship at Exelon, and an international work placement at Nexus PR in London. As a Public Relations Intern at Nexus, I navigated a new media landscape while strengthening my global competence, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication skills. While these experiences have shaped my personal and professional growth, my greatest passion lies in my role as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) for the Kappa Zeta chapter of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. I’m so proud of my chapter’s dedication and hard work that led to us being honored with both the 2024 DEIA Excellence Award from Sigma Kappa Nationals and the Founders Award, which recognizes a singular chapter’s excellence in academics, philanthropy, and sisterhood.Outside of my formal involvements, I’ve competed in Elon University’s DataFest 2025, where my team won Best in Show and Best Data Visualizations. Additionally, my article “You’re a Superhero, Not a Stereotype: Rewriting the Stigmas Surrounding ADHD,” earned first place in the Phoenix Rhetorix Writing Contest and will soon be published by the Elon English Department.In my free time, you can usually find me at club soccer practice or grabbing a meal with friends.
