About Mark Talbot

As a seasoned technology professional specializing in automation, AI, and cloud technologies, I have designed and delivered enterprise systems across financial services, life sciences, insurance, and the public sector. I am credited as an inventor on 19 US patents and five patent applications, work that has been cited in more than 240 later filings from major tech companies including Google, Oracle and Adobe. My expertise spans database design, user interfaces, data integration, generative AI and full stack development practices. I currently lead Appian’s AI incubation team, turning agentic and retrieval augmented solutions into production deployments that lift retention and drive efficiencies for Appian customers. A lifelong learner, I am earning a master’s in AI at the University of Texas at Austin where I’ve taught deep learning and AI in Healthcare. I now teach AI in Healthcare where I help others apply machine learning, deep learning, generative and agentic techniques to the health care space.
