ABOUT TALA JAROUDI

I am a Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) candidate specializing in the Geo-Environmental field of Civil Engineering at York University. Throughout my academic journey and international internships in Canada and the UAE, I have sustained a deep commitment to sustainable, innovative engineering solutions that protect and uplift our environment.My graduate research focuses on a green roof design, exploring its potential as a climate resilient infrastructure, particularly in stormwater management via runoff and energy efficiency via radiation. I am very passionate about the geo-environmental and hydraulic fields, and I aim to pursue impactful work in these domains that strengthens our infrastructure while actively supporting the health and safety of our environment.Over the past years, I’ve contributed to the design and analysis of various civil systems, including pipelines and structural elements, using advanced engineering tools like AutoCAD, WaterCAD, HAMMER, and STAADPro. These experiences have sharpened my technical skillset and deepened my interest in resource optimization, sustainable planning, and taught me how to think outside the box to achieve the most efficient engineering design.Beyond my work and experience, I am driven by curiosity, purpose, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to our society. I try to ensure that my work is not just about solving the problem in front of me, but also ensuring it will benefit and help society. My multicultural background and experience working across disciplines has taught me the value of inclusion, adaptability, and community. I am determined to grow not only as a researcher and engineer, but also as someone who contributes positively to the world around me.
