About Jessica Bao

I am currently leading the IT Services UX Research team. My customers include 1) a broad range of Amazon employees seeking IT support, 2) IT support engineers who use support tools to resolve IT issues raised by the employees, and 3) IT support managers who use administrative and resource tracking tools to ensure effective support coverage. Previously, I worked at Alexa Skills Kit team, ensuring that the products benefit from direct user feedback, and helping to grow new programs and explore opportunities to engage more frequently with Alexa skill builders and Alexa end customers.Originally from Shanghai, China, I moved to Rhode Island when I was 16. Flying across the country, I studied and lived in Seattle, where I earned both my BS and MS degrees at the University of Washington in Human-Centered Design and Engineering, specializing in UX Research. As a student, I interned with Samsung Electronics America. After graduation, I moved to Silicon Valley to continue working on consumer-facing products with Samsung. Before joining Amazon, I worked on enterprise UX with worldwide clients at BlackRock in New York City.When I\'m not working, I enjoy exploring local coffee shops, revisiting forgotten songs I love, reading books on psychology and philosophy, and searching for my next house plant.
