About Kasumi Takam
If you\'d asked me back then, I would have said my dream was to work in a publishing house—immersing myself in the scent of books, sipping black coffee, and discovering the next bestseller. With a BA in English, it seemed like the perfect plan. Drawn to writing, I joined a communication agency as a Junior Content Writer. But something was missing; I wanted to learn more, explore something different.That’s when everything changed. I transitioned into a client-facing role as a Client Servicing Executive. Despite being initially uncomfortable with client calls, I soon found my stride and became a client maverick, blending seamlessly into the role. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible brands across diverse industries—education, healthcare, F&B, manufacturing, hospitality, and technology. My role evolved, and I was promoted to Business Account Manager, where I not only oversaw client relationships but also managed the business aspects and team dynamics. I was responsible for final deliverable sign-offs, team management, crisis resolution, budgeting, timeline and scope management, hiring, upselling and cross-selling, contract updates and renewals, as well as project planning, initiation, closing, and strategy.After three years on the client side, my hunger for growth remained unsatisfied. I realized that my experience in digital communications was the key to advancing further. So, I took the plunge and crossed over to the other side—from internal to external communications. Now, I oversee social media handles for WEConnect International South Asia, craft content strategies, lead social media marketing initiatives, and manage campaigns, projects and events.My journey has been anything but linear, but it’s driven by an insatiable curiosity and a relentless desire to learn and grow.
