About Tajinder Kainth
In my role as a Senior Research Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center, I apply molecular biology skills to advance cancer research and clinical applications. I work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, and technicians to develop and validate novel biomarkers, assays, and methods for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.I have a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Manitoba, where I conducted original research on the genetic and phenotypic diversity of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with Honours and a minor in Chemistry and Biology. I have submitted a patent, publication, and certifications in the fields of microbiology, molecular biology, and science communication.I have over five years of experience in cell culture, microbiological techniques, and molecular assays, including ddPCR, qPCR, RNA-Seq, WGS, and flow cytometry. I have developed and implemented quality control procedures, data analysis pipelines, and scientific reports following pharmaceutical GLPs and GMPs. I have also supervised and mentored research staff and students, and demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills in various R&D projects.
