ABOUT TAIMUR KAMRAN SIDDIQUI
Optimisation theory enthusiast (linear algebra, set theory et al.) — I studied econ. undergrad at Birmingham. Developed an extra-curricular curiosity for probability and stats. foundations and applied research. After graduation, I covered statistical learning - an adjacent field to machine learning. I started parameterising data science and ML models in languages like R — e.g. Random Forest, NN MLPs, basic neural nets as well as XGBoost. I conducted data studies for commercial clients. This experience qualified me for Computer Science @ Warwick. Python, R, HCI and Decision Theory & Games are keys areas of interest for me — I continue to keep up with the research to the best of my ability. Studying at Warwick at the graduate level introduced me properly to applied. My dissertation was multi-disciplinary, involving the application of a Deep Learner - a 1D-CNN - to automate NASA Kepler K2 exoplanet detection for ~a few gigabytes of data. This was open-sourced via Kaggle. My thesis on tech is that we should view computing from the interface- and voice-first perspective for healthier more performant messaging — where any string is a message… Tools of preference incl. TypeScript, NextJS15x, useSWR, Warp, the NodeJS environ, e.g. Bun. Turbo… My real ambition today would be to leverage the capacities and technologies of defence for a consumer oriented outer-space / exoearth sector. I\'d like to contribute and capitalise on a citizen space economy for the UK, USA, other distant frontiers and satellites… build upon humanitarian principles for a humanity- and health- first approach to engineering. I like reading sci-fi classics, meeting like-minded, interesting people and living healthy.
