As a Peer Mentor at the Rutgers Asian American Cultural Center, I support first-year and transfer students in their transition to college life through one-on-one mentorship, community building, and leadership development. My role involves:1. Providing academic, social, and emotional guidance to mentees to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion within the AAPI community.2. Organizing and facilitating workshops, cultural events, and discussion circles centered on identity, wellness, and student success.3. Collaborating with AACC staff and fellow mentors to promote cross-cultural awareness, leadership opportunities, and community engagement across campus.4. Serving as a resource for university programs, cultural initiatives, and student organizations that support Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) students.Through this experience, I’ve strengthened my communication, mentorship, and intercultural leadership skills while contributing to a more inclusive Rutgers community.
