About Syon Lewis
Syon Lewis is a third-year Posse Atlanta Scholar at Brandeis University, where he’s double majoring in African and African American Studies and History. Over time, he’s developed a strong interest in museum studies, especially in how museums can connect with communities and serve as spaces for education and engagement.Syon has interned with both the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, where he worked on projects related to historical documentation and public outreach. He’s also currently volunteering with the National Archives, supporting efforts to preserve and share important historical records.Beyond his academic and professional interests, Syon is passionate about mentorship and community involvement. He’s worked with Teach For America and the Brandeis Intercultural Center’s Roses in Concrete program, helping students navigate academic challenges and build confidence. He’s also organized fundraisers and community events focused on supporting BIPOC youth and promoting equity and advocacy.Whether he’s working in a museum or mentoring young people, Syon brings leadership, curiosity, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose to everything he does.
