About Nicholas Freilich

With over a decade of product and project management experience both at hyper-growth startups and in big tech, I bring an unusually diverse set of skills and experience to my work. Endlessly curious and mission driven, I operate at the intersection of art, science, and spending my 20s amassing advanced degrees, enlightening missteps, and just a pinch of chutzpah, I joined Scopely as one of its first few dozen employees. With no background in gaming, technology, or startups, I parlayed my expertise in law, education, and the arts into a mobile gaming career that now spans the better part of a decade.Soon after a brief stint cutting my teeth in business development and marketing, I took over Dice with Buddies as its lead product manager. Alongside a small but determined group of talented developers, artists, and designers, I introduced more than a dozen significant new features, helped integrate the Yahtzee IP into Scopely’s product line, and drove franchise revenue increases over 5X, earning myself Scopely\'s Beast of the Year for Revenue twice in a row.Eager to expand my influence across the organization during a critical inflection point, I brought my product management expertise to Scopely’s people team, and spent four years using data to design, build, and manage the programs and processes we utilized to maximize employee lifetime value and overall job satisfaction. Enticed by the allure of one of my all-time favorite IPs - Scrabble - I returned to game building, this time focused on audience growth, leading initiatives throughout the player lifecycle, from acquisition to reactivation, and all moments in between. After over seven years at Scopely, I felt it was time, in the words of the inimitable John Cleese, “for something completely different,” and I joined Google. In my two years there, I led the product vision and execution on key components of some of the world’s largest data infrastructures, including both Google Search and Google Support. Upon celebrating yet another decade on Earth, I elected to take a creative sabbatical, during which I focused on making music and other things. I most recently led Gemini\'s trading and core experience for its mobile and web platforms.[ Original compositions: https://soundcloud.com/wozneptune ][ DJ Mixes: you want to learn more about any of this, or have any other topics you may want to discuss, shoot me a message - I\'ll chat with anyone for 30 minutes, and am happy to help however I’m able - we\'re all in this together.
