ABOUT SYLVIA SRINIWASS
I strive to spark positive change through organized action, maximizing my efficiency to empower all equally toward a bright future. Hello! I am a junior at UNC Charlotte, double-majoring in Finance and International Business and minoring in Italian. I am in the Levine Scholars Program, the university’s premiere merit full-ride scholarship program that emphasizes academic excellence, civic engagement, and leadership. I am also in the Business Honors Program, a four-year academic and professional development program for ambitious students in the Belk College of Business. I love to stay involved in the campus community; here is a bit about my current involvement: Niner Finances: I am passionate about providing comprehensive financial literacy education to all. As a Financial Wellness Coach with Niner Finances, UNCC’s Financial Literacy department, I serve students through one-on-one appointments and by delivering presentations about topics such as credit, budgeting, saving, and investing. Niner Guides: I strengthen my communication and relationship-building skills by leading comprehensive campus tours in English and Spanish to prospective and admitted students for the Gage Undergraduate Admissions Center. Conversation Partners: Inspired by my semester studying abroad in Verona, Italy, I volunteer for the English Language Training Institute as a Conversation Partner to assist ELTI students with their English listening, speaking, and communication skills through weekly activities and guided discussions. Club Tennis: I began playing tennis with my dad during the pandemic and quickly fell in love with it. As a Club Tennis member, I attend practices and social and community service events, all of which have resulted in great friendships and camaraderie. My professional internship experiences include: Duke Energy, Financial Forecasting & Planning Intern: I supported capital forecasting processes across various jurisdictions, created five-year models of forecasted capital expenditures, and expanded my knowledge of the utility industry, all of which bolstered my analytical and collaboration skills. Make-A-Wish, Mission Delivery Intern: I enhanced my coordination and decision-making skills by assisting with all steps of the wish-granting process for English- and Spanish-speaking clients, including leading meetings, coordinating logistics, and reconciling completed wishes. I look forward to connecting with you to learn about your role and determine how my skill set could contribute to your company. You can reach me at s••••••••@gmail.com.
