As a seasoned law enforcement professional with over 25 years of experience, I have demonstrated my ability to lead and manage large-scale operations, develop and implement effective crime reduction strategies, and foster strong community partnerships in a large diverse urban environment. Currently I am serving as the Chief of Police for the borough of Edgewood, Pennsylvania. Where I work as part of a team to ensure that public safety strategy is aligned with community expectations and department standards. I provide executive-level leadership for crime reduction, operational planning, and workforce development initiatives. As a former Assistant Chief with the Metropolitan Police Department, I oversaw operations for four (4) patrol Districts with approximately 1800 members. As the former Commander of the Fifth District, I lead a patrol operations team of approximately 300 members in a high-volume urban district, were we utilized strategic risk-based patrol models and intelligence lead policing to reduce crime by 18%. I oversaw incident response protocols, and ensured adherence to department policies while decreasing citizen complaints by 30%. In my roles as an Inspector in the Sixth District, I was responsible for collaborating with local stakeholders to address community issues such as poverty, behavioral health, narcotics addiction, and crime. My expertise in intelligence-led policing, data-driven decision making, and training and professional development has enabled me to create and execute innovative solutions to reduce crime and improve public safety. I also have an extensive background as a supervisor (lieutenant & Sergeant) and detective in criminal (general crimes, crimes against children and financial and cyber crimes) and internal investigations (employee misconduct and serious uses of force) in the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Internal Affairs Division (IAD) respectively. I have been involved in drafting policy and training for the MPDC as well as developing crime prevention strategies that have been implemented Departmentwide, several of which have been featured on shows such as Good Morning American and the ABC evening news. I am passionate about serving and protecting the community, and I am committed to advancing the mission and values of the DC Metropolitan Police Department.
