The Project/Program Manager works in the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks\' Solid Waste Division (SWD) on the Division’s Strategy Team. Re+ is King County\'s approach to keeping valuable materials out of the landfill and reducing climate impacts. This position’s main roles are centered around tracking/monitoring the implementation of Re+ programs and developing performance measures to track the Division’s progress, including reporting on progress to Division leadership. This position also kicks off and leads a more minor update to the initial Re+ Plan to develop and incorporate new materials into the Plan. Re+ mission: Reducing single use items; Reusing everything that can be; Recycling what\'s left; Renewing communities; Rethinking what\'s possible.Overview of Duties and Major Tasks: • Lead Re+ 1.5 planning effort culminating in the development of an addendum to the Re+ Plan. This includes meeting prep and facilitation, high level scheduling, and coordinating task assignments with S&P/RES leadership. • Lead the development and continued monitoring of a performance measure system for the Re+ Plan (both the existing plan and future addenda). • Prepare materials and speaking points for briefing leadership and stakeholders (incl. the public) on Re+ 1.5, Re+ Performance Measures, and other work as assigned. • Build effective working relationships within Strategy and S & PP, with RES and other sections, and with other divisions/departments to accomplish division goals. • Research federal, State, and local planning practice rules and laws and ensure they are properly followed in the course of SWD planning work. • Proactively expand my knowledge of the Division and its work and complete other work as assigned.Position Competencies Include (But Are Not Limited To):• Plans and Aligns• Drive for Results• Communicates Effectively• Have a Strategic Mindset • Skilled in providing systems for designing and measuring work process
