ABOUT SYLVIA JUNG
My path into tech wasn\'t linear. My first career was in restaurant management, where I learned that shipping anything on time — a dish, a release, a client integration — is a team sport, and the person closest to the customer usually has the clearest view of what \"done\" actually means. When the pandemic hit, I decided to make a change: I enrolled back into college for computer science, then completed Ironhack\'s immersive full-stack bootcamp. I\'ve been shipping production software ever since. Today I lead the Integrations Team at PayCargo, a fintech platform serving the global logistics industry. I set the architectural direction for how we connect to enterprise customers, write the code that makes those integrations reliable at scale, and own the technical decisions that keep production healthy. Part of my role is also client-facing — scoping integrations with customers, running technical discovery, and making sure what we ship actually fits the business problem in front of them. I\'ve found that\'s where I do my best work: when the technical depth and the customer context are in the same conversation. I was promoted to Senior Engineering Lead in April 2026, and I\'ve been actively upskilling in AI alongside the role — exploring how to apply the current generation of tools to engineering workflows, integrations, and the platforms I work on. What I care about: solving hard integration and platform problems, learning fast in adjacent domains (fintech today, who knows tomorrow), and shipping software with both technical rigor and business instinct. When I\'m off the clock, you\'ll find me on an indoor cycling bike, chasing down new restaurants, traveling abroad whenever I can, and workshopping the occasional dad joke. I\'m always open to connecting with fellow engineers and builders across tech — fintech, SaaS, developer platforms, live events, or anywhere interesting integration and platform problems live.
