About Syless Necole

I’m Syless Necole—a writer, editor, and storyteller who’s spent the last 15+ years working where games, community, and narrative meet. Most of my professional life has been dedicated to helping people feel connected: to the games they play, the stories they love, and the communities they choose to be part of.My background is rooted in game marketing and community management, where I’ve worked across and indie projects on everything from launch messaging and social strategy to editorial guidelines, influencer campaigns, and executive community reporting. I love the balance of this work, pairing data and strategy with empathy and intuition. I’m especially drawn to writing-heavy roles where voice and trust matter just as much as metrics.Outside of my day-to-day work, I’m a lifelong creative writer. I write dark romance, fantasy, dark comedy, and horror, drawn to morally gray characters, slow-burning tension, and stories that sit in the uncomfortable space between desire and danger. Worldbuilding, atmosphere, and emotional weight are at the heart of everything I create, whether I’m developing a shared universe or focusing tightly on one haunted mind.I find inspiration in quiet, moody places—shadowed forests, old folklore, ivy-covered ruins, candlelight, and the soft magic of everyday rituals. I’m also a devoted dog mom to Anubis, my miniature pinscher and constant companion, who keeps me grounded (and occasionally reminds me to step away from the keyboard).What I’m always working toward is a sustainable, writing-forward life, one where I can continue to tell meaningful stories, support creative communities, and build work that feels honest, intimate, and lasting. I believe words have the power to make people feel seen, and I try to carry that belief into everything I do.
