ABOUT SYIANNI COOK
I am a highly motivated and multidisciplinary undergraduate student at the University of Miami, pursuing a double major in Psychology and Art with a minor in Communication Studies. With a strong academic foundation and diverse applied experience, I am working toward a career in counseling psychology and plan to pursue a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) following graduation in May 2026. My professional interests lie at the intersection of mental health, behavioral science, and human development. I have developed a well-rounded skill set through various hands-on roles that emphasize communication, client engagement, and psychological insight. As an Employer Engagement Intern at the university’s career center, I supported strategic outreach, data management, and event execution to foster partnerships between students and employers. Additionally, I’ve gained experience in human resources, where I’ve contributed to candidate outreach, resume screening, and onboarding support which strengthened my understanding of organizational behavior and internal communication. I have also worked extensively in youth mentorship, having served for multiple summers as a camp counselor and program leader, providing guidance, support, and emotional development for children and adolescents ranging from ages 3 to 16. These roles have strengthened my ability to build rapport, manage responsibilities under pressure, and adapt to diverse developmental needs. Currently, I am seeking opportunities that align with my interests in behavioral health, human resources, and clinical psychology. I am particularly drawn to roles that emphasize interpersonal communication, client or patient support, and organizational development. I bring a unique blend of emotional intelligence, analytical thinking, and adaptability to every role I take on. Whether I am working directly with individuals or supporting broader organizational goals, I remain committed to creating inclusive, growth-oriented environments that promote mental wellness and personal development. I’m always eager to connect with fellow students, professionals, and organizations who are passionate about mental health, communication, and making a positive impact. Whether you’re in psychology, HR, or a related field, I welcome the chance to exchange ideas, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful work.
