ABOUT SYEDA SAJIA

Sajia\'s university journey has been marked by a deep involvement in education, research, and development, collaborating with notable organizations like the Jaago Foundation, Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center, Criticallink, and Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense. Her leadership prowess was evident as she successfully spearheaded various teams throughout her academic tenure.In addition to her leadership roles, Sajia has actively participated in community service projects and spearheaded her initiative, “Awareness on Disaster Management.” This project educates students on utilizing available resources for minimizing fatalities during disasters. Her commitment to skill development is further highlighted by her participation in numerous workshops and training programs, both nationally and internationally.Before her current role as a Lecturer at USET, Sajia enriched her experience as a Research Officer at DevResonance Ltd, in their Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation department. She also contributed as a Research Assistant to the UNDP\'s “Bangladesh Youth Network” project and the “Urban Green Infrastructure in the Global South” project by the University of Wollongong, Australia. Her insightful article, “Korail Basti – Tip of An Iceberg on Unplanned Urbanization in Bangladesh,” was published in the Dhaka School of Economics Newsletter (Special Issue: April –September 2017).Notably, Sajia has been a recipient of the prestigious British Council Great Scholarship 2023, funded by the UK Government and British Council Great Britain Campaign for supporting her MSc in Economics program at the University of East Anglia. Her research excellence also earned her a nomination for the anti-tobacco award under the National Anti-Tobacco Platform in 2019. Sajia\'s academic accomplishments include winning a full scholarship from the International Supply Chain Alliance (ISCEA) to become a Certified Supply Chain Analyst, and a scholarship from PKSF for her Master\'s dissertation.Her leadership and youth advocacy skills were recognized in 2015 when she was selected for the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka Youth Exchange Program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs Bangladesh. Her community contributions have been featured in The Guardian and the UNV magazine “Share Your Vision For the Post-2015,” highlighting her impact as a community volunteer and visionary youth leader.\"
