ABOUT SYED UZMA
I am a social worker in process, independent menstrual educator, and communicator with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Kashmir and bachelors degree in Mass Communication & Journalism.Currently, I work with KEI (USA) as Program Officer for the Experiential Learning Program, where I design workshop modules, assessment metrics, and facilitate and coordinate adolescent capacity building sessions. Alongside, I lead an independent Menstrual Education project with menstrupedia as my education partner for adolescent girls in Kashmir, creating safe spaces to challenge stigma and build awareness. As a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum, I served in leadership roles for over two years and represented Kashmir as the first Kashmiri woman at the Annual Global Shapers Summit at CERN & WEF HQ (2024). I also volunteer as an Executive Member of Mehram Kashmir (Women’s Cell). With experience spanning journalism, grassroots development, and global leadership, I am passionate about gender advocacy, menstrual health, and experiential learning,and open to collaborations that drive inclusive and sustainable change.
