About Syed Faisal

I have been working in development sector from 14 years and successfully handled government project at state level. I started my career as a Program Coordinator at Pratham Education Foundation, Varanasi, Uttat Pradesh. The project was funded by MHRD and I was managing a team of around 600+ people. Project cover ed 13800 out of school and dropped out children through 552 community/school classes and 92 libraries. The project was executed keeping senior government officials in sync. I got promoted as a State Head for Jammu & Kashmir in 2007. I have initiated the Read Jammu & Kashmir program in 5500 government schools in 6 districts of Jammu & Kashmir. We were working with the children of primary grade in English and math. We have trained around government teachers, CRP’s and ZRP’s in English and math. I was doing liasoning with the education secretary, Director of school education and State project Director (SSA). I have managed a team of around 350 people. I have prepared operational plans, progress reports and budget for the state. Under the program we trained government school teachers on innovative pedagogy. I have also managed state wide citizen led ASER (Annual Status of Education Report) survey and tied up with various universities and colleges in order to mobilize volunteers for the survey. We mobilized around 800 volunteers for the survey. The survey was conducted in 22 districts of Jammu & Kashmir. Currently, I am working as a Program Coordinator, Livelihood Programs and assisting senior Program Officer, Monitoring & Evaluation at Aga Khan Foundation, Delhi.
