ABOUT SYED ANAS ALI
I am a Lead Hydrogeologist at WSP Canada Inc, specializing in Hydrogeological Studies in Ontario. I hold a PhD in Hydrogeology and Aqueous Geochemistry, a Masters in Hydrogeology and Environmental Geosciences, and a Bachelors in Geology. I am a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) in Ontario.With a strong background in Hydrogeology, Aqueous Geochemistry, and Environmental Geoscience, I have extensive experience in Reactive Transport Modelling, Carbon Capture and Storage, Construction Dewatering Studies, Environmental Site Assessments, Aquifer Testing, Water Rock Interaction Studies and Hydrogeological studies to support Permit To Take Water (“PTTW”) applications and Environmental Activity Sector Registries (“EASR”) in Ontario.Throughout my career, I have worked on projects for regional municipalities such as Peel, Durham, and Halton, as well as for Conservation Authorities, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Ontario Power Generation and Residential and Commercial Developers. Furthermore, I have worked on research projects with extensive outdoor fieldwork involving core, water, and soil sampling in the remote areas of Australia, Germany, and Canada. I have acquired sound working knowledge in modelling packages including TOUGHREACT, Geochemist’s Work Bench (“GWB”), Slide 7.0 and MODFLOW. I possess strong analytical skills and have worked on complex laboratory and field experiments involving Core Flooding System, U-Tube System, Tracer Tests, Pumping and Slug Tests, Petro-Physical characterization of the rocks and Fluid Analysis.I am dedicated to strengthening hydrogeology and environmental geoscience as I am passionate about my field. My career goal is to continue advancing in the field of hydrogeology and environmental geoscience, and to contribute to sustainable water resource management and environmental protection. I aspire to work on challenging projects that require innovative solutions and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful outcomes.
