About Syed A. Bukhari
Trained in materials physics and chemical engineering, I am always passionate about doing new things everyday. I love doing experiments and analyzing data for scientific insights. Curiosity is the key to move your thinking forward. My education/research & management experience helped to conceive and design complex studies and projects, implement and manage different phases of complex research projects and to follow them through to completion, and to to organize and test ideas, evaluate critically and investigate using different research methodologies.Specialties: Instrumentation and integration of hardware with software. Advanced understanding of various materials synthesis techniques. Diverse understanding of vacuum systems, gas handling systems, cryogenics, experimental design and micro-fabrication. Solid state reaction for bulk materials synthesis, thin films deposition and advanced microfabrication.Materials Characterization: Mechanical, electrical, optical and magnetic properties in 3D, 2D and 1-D materials from basic understanding to devices and applications. Hands on expertise on Laser Doppler vibrometery (LDV), electrical characterization (IV characteristics, impedance spectroscopy, Hall effect measurements), Tension testing with Instron, creep testing, corrosion, optical and electron microsocpy, strain hardening, Dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) etc.Mathematical and statistical analysis: Strong theoretical understanding with advanced software knowledge for data analysis. Expertise in MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, Origin, Excel, SolidWorks, Visio, LabView, Mathematica and MS office. Willingness to learn any advanced tool if required. Practical understanding of multivariate regression, PCA, clustering, and statistical testing.
