It holds a delegated governance role and service role for each Mercy education ministry individually and the system communally. Mercy Education System of the Americas was formally established July 1, 2017, to insure Mercy sponsored, co-sponsored, and affiliated education ministries are identified within the mission of the Catholic Church and are faithful to the charism, mission, and core values of the Sisters of Mercy. The result of the collaborative work of many, MESA is established in hope and trust, with a commitment to that which is unified, with respect for what is local, and with simplicity in form and execution.
