Through rigorous academic research at Sarah Lawrence College, The School for International Training, and professional preparation at GO2 for Lung Cancer, Sydney has broadened her scope of understanding of the academic field of public health and the essential work that is being done within the field, both in the United States and abroad. These experiences have affirmed Sydney’s belief that healthcare is a fundamental human right which must be unwaveringly protected through astute, deliberate policy and evidence-based practices. Moreover, Sydney’s passion to advocate for the efficiency of the healthcare system, expand access to quality healthcare, and ensure optimal outcomes for marginalized and underserved populations has been solidified.

   Serve as project manager and Steering Committee member of GO2 for Lung Cancer\'s Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award which focuses upon representative patient and caregiver engagement in research prioritization- Support and facilitate the end-to-end fulfillment of project (pre-award processes and post-award monitoring and reporting), deliverables and milestones as outlined in the PCORI project proposal and research protocols- Organization, creation and management of sub-awardee contracts, payment schedules, agendas and meeting scheduling- Production, distribution, and submission of Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award Deliverables and Progress Reports - Support and facilitate community outreach and engagement of underserved communities for Lung Cancer Screening in partnership with CHI Memorial, Chattanooga, TN- Production of Health Equity manuscript on patient engagement best practices in Chattanooga, TN
