ABOUT SYDNEY B.

I am currently a legal fellow at EqualAI. I am particularly interested in technology law and how technology intersects with human rights, dissent, the right to privacy, and access to information. I am also passionate about movement lawyering, especially involving disability justice, reproductive justice, and queer and trans liberation.I passed the July 2024 New York Bar Exam and September 2024 New York Law Exam.I graduated from law school in May 2024. During law school I was a managing editor for the Technology Review, a senior editor for the Journal of Gender and the Law, and significantly involved in student organizations related to technology and disability justice. I also participated in the Communications & Technology Law Clinic and reproductive rights-related pro bono work.In 2021, I graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a triple major in journalism, politics, and art history. I received an honors distinction with my journalism major for my thesis work that assessed when vulnerable communities around the world turn to, and likely need, privacy and censorship circumvention software the most.
