WORK HISTORY
Sexual Medicine Research Assistant @Wayne State University School Of Medicine
Grand Rapids, MI, US
I am part of the Sexual Medicine Research Group at Wayne State University School of Medicine, which is led by Dr. Michael Sessine, MD. Our work focuses on addressing critical issues in sexual health, including sexual dysfunction, infertility, oncofertility, and hormone replacement therapy.I am currently leading the development of my own study examining Urologic Oncologists’ Perceptions to Prescribing Vaginal Estradiol Following Bladder Cancer as a Proactive and Preventative Treatment for Female Sexual Dysfunction. In addition, I contribute to three ongoing projects- Cryopreservation Study – exploring fertility preservation through sperm freezing for men undergoing cancer treatment- Semen Analysis Study – investigating correlations between sperm health, overall health, and disease risk- Hormone Replacement Therapy Study – analyzing cost trends of direct-to-consumer HRT companiesThese research experiences have expanded my perspective on the role of urologists in improving patients’ quality of life by addressing sexual health. I plan to continue pursuing sexual medicine research throughout medical school and into residency since sexual health is a vital yet often overlooked component of comprehensive patient care.
