ABOUT SYDNEY HOLLARS

I am a compassionate, driven, and organized aspiring physician assistant who is devoted to helping others. Since being at Indiana University, I have become heavily involved in Camp Kesem, an organization that supports children through and beyond their parent\'s cancer by offering free year-round services. I started as co-chair of the community outreach committee and continued my involvement by becoming the diversity, equity, and inclusion chair. I have further solidified my commitment to Camp Kesem by taking on the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion coordinator for IU\'s Camp Kesem chapter. In addition to my work with Camp Kesem, I am an active member of the national women\'s fraternity Alpha Chi Omega, where I serve on the diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. I also participate in IU\'s Pre-Physician Assistant Club, connecting with fellow aspiring healthcare professionals and sharing our passions for patient care. While in my undergraduate years, I began to expand my direct patient care experience through two jobs. One of these jobs is at the IU School of Optometry in their Clinical Optics Research Lab as a research technician. While the other one is at Bloomington Regional Rehab Hospital as a therapy technician. These experiences have deepened both my passion for high-quality patient care, and my aspiration to become a physician assistant. I look forward to continuing my journey toward helping others, both in and out of the professional setting.
